WHAT IS THE BEST ADVICE YOU’VE RECEIVED THROUGHOUT YOUR LIFE?
One of the best pieces of advice I’ve received that I apply in all areas of my life, especially being a Mom, is to not be afraid to ask for help. Sometimes we perceive asking for help as a sign of weakness but I’ve learned that that’s just my ego talking : ) Asking for help is a strength. I’ve experienced that the more open I am about needing help and asking for it, the more enjoyable my life has become. I’m able to do the things I really love with the people I love the most.
WHAT INSIGHT CAN YOU GIVE TO ASPIRING WOMEN IN THEIR CAREERS WHO WANT TO BE A LEADER IN THEIR SPACE?
Believe in yourself. It sounds so cliche but it’s hard to pitch or sell an idea if you’re unsure about it, and ultimately, unsure about yourself. Most companies and investors are investing in the person rather than the idea so trust your gut, but make sure to always do the work. You’re your own best cheerleader. If you don’t believe in yourself, how do you expect others to?
WHAT IS YOUR SECRET TO MANAGING MOTHERHOOD, CAREER AND RELATIONSHIPS?
I always start with myself first, and check in with myself first. It seems counterintuitive since being a Mom and a woman always feels like it’s taking care of others but I really believe that when you take care of your needs, wants and overall joy and happiness, everything and everyone else gets better. Everyone will be taken care of. The more you invest in your well being, the more everything and everyone will continue to grow and flourish with you. Love yourself and an abundance of love for others will follow.
